Vanderbilt Lawyer before redesignVanderbilt Lawyer after redesign

Law School not guilty of judicious editing.
Vanderbilt University Law School is a premier school of law with an appetite for advancement in the rankings. National rankings determine the draw of the best, young legal minds in the country. There are numerous criteria for the rankings including the effectiveness of the school's communications. Vanderbilt Law School came to The Eleazar Group for a complete redesign of Vanderbilt Lawyer, the Law School's alumni magazine. And none to soon. The old format was cluttered and confusing.

Quid pro quo. Finally.
With a design philosophy embracing negative space, The Eleazar design team crafted a modern, sophisticated layout that would appeal to a broad range of demographics. The brand identity was realized in a stylish, bold masthead of all caps emphasizing the word LAWYER. The magazine's layout followed a clean and crisp three-column grid that provided ease in use and an appealing aesthetic. 2 complementary fonts were incorporated for flow and rhythm. Creative sidebars and fact boxes guide the reader through the magazine maintaining visual and contextual interest. All of these efforts provided a fluid, rewarding, entertaining, and substantive reading experience.

A real page-turner or is that head-turner?
Vanderbilt Law School is enjoying its redesign and its elevated ranking this year. In addition to their improved ranking, the marketing and design talents of The Eleazar Group have delivered a valuable marketing tool for the Law School's Development offices. They have received rave reviews from their alumni for the redesigned magazine. The effective use of generous white space gave the content and photos more prominence and strength than in previous issues, and similarly Vanderbilt Law School is enjoying greater national prominence and strength. Great design is often undervalued until its importance in profitability and growth is illustrated.
